Loose hood hinge

So i would like to tighten up the pivot points on the drivers side hood hinge, as they are quite worn and the hood doesnt close properly on that side. I dont want to buy new or recon as the shipping from the US would seriously deplete my retirement fund.
Has anyone had any success tightening up the hinge? and how did you do it?
Thanks for looking.

A machinist should be able to dismantle, rebuild, perhaps with bushings, and re-assemble.

Said activity may cost more than proper original hinges, depending on the cost of a machinist in your area. Find a hobbyist with a garage shop.

You might just check to see if it is actually the hinge joint, or if the monts on the fender are loose. I had to tack weld the pressed in (no longer) nuts cause they worked loose and the hinge was wobbling and binding when I tried to close the hood.

You can try using a fairly wide chisel and a vise, I've had some luck that way, but having your hinges refurbed is the best way to fix old, worn out hinges. The hinge rebuilders replace the rivets which will fix your problem.
