1972 Quadrajet 7042252

This carb has been on the shelf in my basement for 10+ years.
Numbers indicate it's for a manual x'mission car.
Reference info indicates it's for a 1972 455 engine in a 4-4-2 or Hurst Olds.
If you need a correct number carb for a 4-4-2 or Hurst Olds, you should verify this carb is what you need before purchasing it.
I got it in a trade and never used it so I can't vouch for the operating condition.
Looks like a good rebuildable core, may even be useable as-is, but, I would consider it a core.
$100.00 plus shipping.

I thought the 7042252 was a 72 Toronado carb, not a manual trans A body.

You may be right.
I'm no carb expert. I was going on reference info I have that says when the last digit is an even number,
the carb is for a manual x'mission car.

Thanks, 2 blu. Appreciate the fix.
Why can't the author of a thread edit the post?

Interesting theory, but here's a challenge to it.
1968 7028252 455 engine ; automatic trans
1969 7028255 (W31) 350 engine ; automatic and manual
1970 7020255 (W31) 350 engine ; automatic and manual

1972 7042251 455 engine (W30 & 442) ; Automatic transmission
1972 7042953 - 455 engine ; manual transmission

Today would be the first time I ever saw anything referencing a 252 carb on anything but a Toro.

AFAIAK 252's were Toro carbs.

One more time.
Looks like this is actually a '72 Toronado carb.
Since I've never seen a manual shift Toronado, at least not a stock one,
this carb apparently is an exception to the "even number rule".
Price reduced to $75.00 plus shipping.

No Longer for sale.
Glad no one bought this one.
When I disassembled it, the interior was in pretty bad shape.
