I agree.
The price was good, so I bought four of them back when Patton first began selling them just to make sure
I got what I needed in case they became unavailable.

I bought one of Patton's gas tanks pads months ago. I finally got around to installing it yesterday. This is an excellent piece of high quality material. There was even enough material there to cut (2) strips for under the mounting straps. Highly recommended!

Hi my name is John and could really use some advise. Working on frame off restoration for past two years on a 1972 olds 442 and finally lowered body back on frame and then put fenders on and front end. Problem is gaps between fender and door seem too big and bumper is hitting fender on passenger side. We changed some spacers and the two big spacers in front rad support are now on same side. The body was not square so we loosen body mounts and made both sides of frame same distance from body. We are doing something wrong but can not figure it out. Had fender off three times and everytime gets alittle better, but something is still wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated I don"t mind starting over just want it right. Thanks again John

John - You might try posting your question in the General Discussion or possibly the "Body" section.

In the meantime....did you put NOS GM fenders on the car by chance?

Thanks for the bump

Question I'll take one of the Forest Mist ones... or

a black one - I'm guessing it's kinda like the first model T's from Henry. You can have it in any color you would like, as long as it's black.

Zip is 92029 How much should I make out the check for incl. shipping and where do I send it? - thanks fred

These gas tank pads are very nice - I bought one for my 70 SX and it worked out great and Patton is a real good guy to deal with. He has given me some great technical advice on many aspects of the restoration.

Just installed mine - looks and works great.

Tip I bet most of you might know. I bought the repop gas tank bolt kit and had real trouble getting the front bolts up enough to engage the j nuts. Went to the hardware store and bought two an inch and a half longer and used those to start the bolts and stretch/seat the straps, then unscrewed one at a time and inserted the correct bolts.

Patton does a great job, little out of pocket, must be more of a hobby/something to do for him than a big money maker. I truly appreciate guys like this in our hobby. Patton, the last one I ordered from you is going on my Pro-Touring 425 F-85 Saturday when I install the new gas tank and straps.
