Rebuilt 71-72 8.5" 10-bolt posi rears

I am doing another batch of the 71-72 8.5" 10-bolt posi rears. When the summer months hit,I will have some other larger projects to do.I can build anything you want, but I currently have one of each,3:08,3:23,3:42,3:73,3:90. These are all nice rust-free southern rears. They have been stripped,hot-tanked,blasted,epoxy-primed,& urethane coated satin black. All of the internals inside are new.Eaton posi units,Motive gearsets, and Timken bearings/seals.The rears are filled with fluid & additive, and ready to run.I include the backing plates, but no brake hardware.Price is $975.00 plus the freight,or pickup in-person.
These rears are correct for 71-72 Cutlass/442,but will fit ALL 64-72 GM A-body cars. The 64/65 Cutlass/442 rears are 5/8" narrower on each side,so this rear would push your existing wheels outboard 5/8" on each side,on the 64/65 cars only.ALL of the mounting points are the same.

Any idea what shipping would be to N.Y. 11901 / 11968.
Direct fit for 68 442? Eaton posi is clutch type, correct?
Thanks.

Can you give me some idea on shipping to Houma, Louisiana, 70363? When do you expect to start....as my son is hospitalized so work on my 70 has screeched to a halt while he beats cancer. But hope to start up again and would look to switch to posi in July-August.

P.S.: At that price I will throw in a pound of alligator boudin!

I'll try & get you guys some quotes in a day or so.When I ship these,I ship them terminal to terminal,as that is the cheapest way,but sometimes I can ship them to a business for the same cost,if it is local to the terminal. If you try to ship top a residence,it gets crazy,& the price can almost double sometimes.
Hey,I've had some cooked gator, when some of you were up here a few years ago at the Dick Miller event at Norwalk. Don't knock it til you try it guys. Also had some catfish.
Yes,the Eaton units have clutches.
When you install the 71-72 8.5" 10-bolt rear into a 67-69 Olds,or something that originally had a 12-bolt O-axle,you will need to shorten your driveshaft because the pinion snout of the 8.5" 10-bolt is longer,so it needs less shaft to reach. Not a big deal, but it is a cost that needs to be considered.

Brian, I'm thinking about buying one of your rears rather than having mine built. Can you get Moser axles any cheaper than I can myself? I want a 3.90 gear w/ Moser 30 splines like you suggested on another post.

A rear like that would get a hand-built Eaton posi, with the knurled steel clutches,Motive gears,Timken beairngs/seals,Moser 30-spline axles with 1/2"x3" wheel studs, and an LPW aluminum girdle cover. $1600.00 plus the freight.
