1970 12 Bolt Olds "O" complete rear end and brakes for sale $350

Complete pull out of a fully restored 1970 442 clone.
http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/cto/1780905521.html

Cars my summer cruiser. I'm putting in a T56 6 speed and the gears aren't
going to work with my new combination, so I'm selling the entire rear end
with the factory drum brakes cheap to get rid of it.

No problems with the rear at all. In fact it's still in the car and I can
take you for a spin in it if you want to see for yourself. Looking to pull
it out HOPEFULLY this weekend or next.

Would that fit in my 72 Supreme? I currently have a 10 bolt. What are the gears?

It is a 10 bolt. The O-Axle has a 12 bolt cover with a 10 bolt ring gear.

If you put it in a 71 or 72,you will need a longer driveshaft. If you own a 71 or 72,& still have the original 8.5" 10-bolt,I would build that. Those are great rears, with plenty of parts available, but if this rear for sale has decent gears,& is a posi, then it's a steal.

The 12-bolt O-axle has a shorter pinion snout,compared to the 71-72 8.5" 10-bolt,so therefore you need a longer driveshaft to reach it,about 1 1/4".

If you look at the CL add you'll see it's a 2.78 with SA on the tube indicating it's a 2.78 open.
