'70-2 Cutlass/442 Console - Regular Floor Shift or Dual Gate
I have a original gold console that I pulled from a '70 Cutlass many years ago. It is a regular auto floor shift console but the plastic area (under the woodgrain insert) was cracked up where it screwed onto the floor shifter housing.
I repaired most of it but it still needs some additional repair to hold the shift indicator bulb socket bracket.
OR....all the area I repaired could be cut back out if the console was to be used w/a Hurst Dual Gate auto setup (the broken up area I refer to all gets trimmed away and eliminated when converting to a Dual Gate). ALSO - w/factory 4 speed console setup the repaired area gets completely covered with the 4 speed woodgrain console insert.
In any case, this will screw onto/bolt up to a regular floor shift setup as it is now.
The console door hinge area on this one is well intact and hasn't ever been broken (fairly common on these consoles).
I did crack the D side of the upper console body and repaired the three cracks that occurred when I stepped on the upper half...uggh! Repair is rock solid and not really visible anyway once the console is installed b/n the seats (cracks occurred on the D side of the console glovebox area).
Misc small parts like screws, etc that you don't see in the pics will be included...I'll have to gather all that stuff up.
As far as shipping....not the cheapest thing to ship BUT I use Pirate Ship and their rates are superb....saves a lot of money compared to someone shipping via the Post Office or "retail" UPS and "retail" Fedex. I also pack things VERY WELL.
>No wiring harness - available used or from the repro wiring people
>Regular auto floor shifter available at slight extra cost (no shifter ****) - good driver condition used shifter that's had the mounting brackets, etc cleaned and refinished. Driver quality chrome shift handle.
>No console floor mounting brackets with this one...available used or repro
>You'll also need the typical shifter cable and any clips, brackets, etc used to connect the cable to the trans. HOWEVER....I DO HAVE a trans pan bracket for the cable...for use w/a T350 trans and auto floor shifter. Nice bracket replated in phosphate.
Price is $450 + shipping/packaging. The "packaging" part of the cost will be the cost of one or two large boxes and some wood to make a framework/skeleton possibly. Can post more pics...pics don't make it look like "much" since it's currently apart....but overall it'll make a nice console for someone.
Can discuss restoring it as well (extra cost)....black, '70 Olds blue or '70 Olds gold colors available
