While cleaning off some shelves trying to organize the clutter I came across this flywheel/flexplate. I hesitate to call this a flexplate as its way more heavy duty than the next generation flexplates! I don't know for sure where I got it. Years ago I purchased a couple 394's in pieces, one 1961 and one 1964 just because they were cheap and they were Oldsmobiles. The 1964 was painted the same color as this so if it interchanges with 1964 that may be where I got it. I did a search on ebay and found a couple that looked just like this identified as 1962 394 parts. I'm hoping members here who know this vintage will post to clarify what years it will interchange with. The teeth look good and I don't see any damage or flaws in the part. Mud daubers have filled some of the bolt holes with mud, I didn't clean that out before I took the photos. I would like $50 plus shipping from Oregon for this piece. If your close enough to pick up in person I will take $40 for it. Contact me with any questions or to see any other views.
You can call it a flywheel.
According to the parts book, all four years '61, '62, '63, &'64 all carry different part numbers for this part.
in addition, 61 and 62 Starfires also carry their own numbers.
I don't really have a clue as to the difference between these.
I do know that the flywheel from my '63 Starfire motor has 166 teeth.
