1964 394 and slim jim trans

1964 394 Ultra High Compression engine. Just pulled this about a month ago out of my old 64 Super 88. Was used as a daily driver. Ran great! Trans worked great! Its complete from aircleaner to pan, trans to water pump, and starter. It smoked alittle, just alittle out the passanger side. Not bad at all. I rebuilt the carb in Feb. Needs a fuel pump, and a balancer. The balancer is spun. $400 Located in North Aurora,il 60542

Im open to trades or partial trades. I need a BB Olds Holly Intake, dual quad tunnel ram for BB, sb performer, Holley 600, Holley 850, 2 15x7 olds ralleys, a set of 27-8x15 slicks, disc brake setup for my 64 Abody.

Details please!

Specifically engine and transmission mounts to set this combo in the 1964 frame. Wiring would be no big deal since everything except oil sender is in the same location. How about starter and exhaust interference?

If the blue 64 Starfire ever sees road time again I expect it will be with this same drivetrain.

Engine mounts i fabbed up myself, the trans mount is a th350 notched to fit the 400, and the crossmember is 1 solid pc of u channel. We used big car manifolds, and a normal starter. The ministarter for the project turned out to be junk, so we just used a normal BB starter.

You will be much happier with your 455 and TH 400. I had a 64 98 with a 394 and Slim Jim. That transmission is the worst IMHO.

The trans isnt a hot rod trans in that big car. But it never gave me any problems. The main reason for the swap was the fuel pump price, and the spun balancer. Plus i had the 455 and 400 in the garage so it was cheaper. LOL

Stick with that 8.2 BIA and use a no slip. It goes in place of the spider gear setup.

Nope.

I have a SWEET open Chebby 8.125" with a bad axle, though. I'll sell it to you cheap.

Are you willing to ship the motor and transmission? If so how much is the shipping to 93022? I can also pick it up from any of the shipping terminals in Los Angeles if that makes it cheaper.

Thank you

***UPDATE*** Just cleaned and painted it yesterday. Cleaned up real nice. The pan and the valve covers look great. Exhaust manifolds look good, no broken studs or stripped holes in the heads. All ready to go. Price is now $500 Firm.
