Olds Heads, multiple castings

Well I went through my shelves and tooks some heads down to my favorite machine shop for hot tanking and magnifluxing. This removed the paint and most of the oily cooked on crud but they would need glass bead blasted to get them 100% clean. He removed the rockers but did not pull the valves.

I used an inexpensive micrometer to check for large or small intake valves, not perfect but accurate enough to distinguish between the two.

They would be shipped in three packages, one for each head with valves and springs, one with the rockers bridges and bolts. The prices below don't include shipping, send me your zip code for a shipping quote. The castings I had done were:

C small valve $125
C large valve $150
E large valve $150
#5 small valve $125

One of the E's has 3 exhaust bolts broken off, the #5's have some valves frozen in the partially open position. Contact me for more photographs.

Other castings I have that are still on core engines or on the shelf still grimy are:

B large valve
C small valve
G unk size
Ga unk size
Ka large valve
#3
#4
#5
#6

Then singles of #2,3,5,7a

It costs me $25 a set to have them hot tanked and magged. If you want to skip that I'll do a visual check for cracks.

I also have J's, 8's and 4A's that would be really cheap or I'd be willing to strip off the bridges, rockers, bolts, valves and springs if you just need some parts. I'm located in Medford Oregon, your welcome to pick up and save the shipping costs if your close enough. John

Thank you wmachine, I hope the shipping costs don't add too much to the prices. There appears to be a lot more Olds guys in the mid-west than here in the PNW. John

Thanks F85. I think I need to post shipping costs to common cities to give people a ballpark on their shipping costs. I've had a lot of interest, but none sold so far. John

Shipping Costs

OK... Here's some shipping costs to various cities using two packages of one head each shipped FedEx ground plus one box for the rocker arms and parts in a US Postal Flat Rate box @ $10:

Seattle WA $ 65
Salt Lake City UT $ 65
Los Angeles CA $ 65
Denver CO $ 76
Dallas TX $110
Chicago IL $110
Clevland OH $125
Philadelphia PA $125
Tampa FL $125
New York NY $125

These are shipped to a residence, if they went to a business address that would shave a few dollars off the costs. Let me know if you'd like an estimate from a different city. John

Any chance you can band 1-3 sets on a pallet and ship collect via LTL to a business that accepts LTL shipments?

I can get a pallet and I can strap them down, the only local trucking company I've used is Oak Harbor Freight Lines. I'm not familiar with LTL but if any of the trucking companies here in Medford Oregon will do that I'd be OK with it. John

Just a suggestion here, but try Forward Air if they're in your area. I had a buddy that used to ship a lot of motorcycle parts around the country, and they were pretty economical. Just crate up the part and deliver it to the closest major airport and they'll deliver to another major city. (even Cleveland)
