For sale: 68-only a-body fenders

A pair of '68 fenders that I got off of a Cutlass S in the mid-80s. It was obvious the car had been garaged its entire life. In fact, I couldn't figure out why the car was even in the junkyard! No rot or rust, these fenders are in outstanding condition. Has the fender stainless peak trim holes. Emblem holes have been filled so these fenders are ready for use with Cutlass S, 4-4-2 or Hurst Olds. $950/pair or $500/each. I have a useable 2-piece fender peak trim set for the driver side for another $50 if fenders are purchased. Local pick-up only - making a crate for these fenders & shipping them would be cost prohibitive.

Can these be made to work on a 69?

They probably could, but with a lot of effort. The biggest difference is the set-up for the hood hinges. '68 hood hinges are attached to the fenders with two bolts. '69 hinges are attached with 3 bolts - the two patterns are completely different. I know that replacement fenders for 68-69 came with both bolt patterns ready for either hinge. But these fenders are original 68s and are only set up for 2-bolt hinges.

Nice fenders Randy!

Bernhard, if you want to buy these I'm pretty sure I can help you add the 1969 hinge locations.

Check out the list in my sig file.

The 68 and both 69s need good fenders. Your two only covers one of those.

I just wanted to say thanks to Randy for a great transaction. His shipping crates could become bookcases! Fenders are very solid and will be a nice addition to my 68 W-30.

I'll also add that Fastenal took about two weeks to deliver the crates. No muss, no fuss.
