Wilwood D52 calipers, ss lines and EBC red stuff pads
SOLD SOLD SOLD
These calipers are off of my '71 cutlass convertible and in excellent conditon. Only have 500 miles on them before car was totaled by a deer 2 years ago. Plenty of pad life left. (see pic).
FYI: This is the kit I have:
http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Bra...emno=140-11291
Not for a factory resto but a good upgrade for a mild restomod. The red stuff EBC pads are far superior to the stock Wilwood smart pads.
New was over $530 for everything. $375 + Shipping

I have these callipers on my 76 olds, as you mentioned a nice upgrade for most cars.
I see you have used banjo fittings on your callipers rather than the supplied brass fittings.
I need to find some and do the same.
Nice package for the price.

Gus, I realize these were on your car 2 years ago for a very short time. Just wondering if you recall where you purchased the banjo style fitting set up to the calliper?
I spoke with a Wilwood tech guy today, he tells me they don't stock or carry anything other than the brass fittings.
I stripped the first 5 threads trying to use the supplied fittings then had to resort back to using the original rubber lines. (The factory calliper bolt has longer thread)
I have to say these Wilwood callipers have awesome response compared to the factory cast ones. I don't even feel the need to change the rubber lines the braking is just so good.
However I have the nice SS Wilwood lines and would like to use them if I can find the fittings you used.
If I had another car I would buy these in a heartbeat!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Eric

Hi Eric,
Sorry, didn't realize you were inquiring about the banjo style fittings.
I can't remember where I got them but I did a search for "stainless steel brake lines with banjo fittings for wilwood d52 front disc brakes" in google (since the wilwood d52's are supposed to be a direct replacement for the OEM parts) and found this halfway down the page from Speedway motors.
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/DOT-Br...-20,36151.html
They kinda look like what I have but not quite the level of quality. I'm sure I paid twice as much for mine. But they should do the job for you. I'd connect with speedway to be sure before you order though.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

Thanks Gus, I haven't purchased anything from Speedway motors in the past. It looks like I will need to buy different lines with the banjo fittings now.
I can't believe these are still for sale TBH.
If you guys are unsure about these D52 calipers, let me mention I have them on my 1976 with just the factory rubber brake hoses. They feel great when braking, much lighter than the factory cast ones and look good as well.

Your welcome Eric.
Yeah, I thought they'd be gone by now.
A member of the protouring.com forum who has a firebird asked if they are compatible, which they are, so hopefully he'll scoop 'em up.
Thanks for the sales pitch Eric!
