W-27 Rear End Cover-- Not Original GM

I have a used reproduction W-27 cast aluminum rear end cover-- 12 bolt. Beadblasted and clear coated-- looks excellent --$50 plus shipping to the 48 states....

Part number 406785 is cast into it. (I find it very disturbing that an unlicensed GM repo part is allowed to have a GM part number cast into it)

Please Email ros6872@hotmail.com or call 203-272-7103 after 6pm
or visit www.ros6872parts.com

I can accept Paypal, credit card via phone, check or money order

Thanks for looking

W-27

Part number 406785 is cast into it-- I see nothing else....Part was grungy and looked like *** before I bead-blasted-- certainly not a poser......unless they have been doing that for 20 years.
Sorry-- hope this helps...

Hard to tell. The repops have the number cast into the same spot. The real ones that I've had, there was a date stamped on the underside.Nice cover though.

Brian, you interested in a W27 cover? I can check my spare parts tommorrow, but I bought a repop (NIB) and I believe I got the wrong one. Need one for a 10 bolt pumpkin, not 12. I'll look at the inside and see if there's a date, but I don't think there is one. Anyway, it was never mounted, still in plastic. Interested?

Like I said it's a repop. Is there a significant difference in functionality or appearance between an OEM and repop? (other than the date stamp you were talking about)

The porousity or texture of the aluminum is different, and the edges & shapes are different. The originals look more crude when placed next to a repop.
