need i Aluminum Rear-End cover(Girdle)???
hello from germany,
my car is 65 442 conv. with a mild 455.Itīs a weekend cruiser with no drag racing action(unfortunately, because no strip and a unstabile 7.5 10 bolt)but sometimes a lil bit of tire fire action .....
In a few days i will bolt a posi and overhaul the axle and i must swap the autobahn gears (2.28)--really cool i you wanted to make a new record at Bonneville.--
what do you think... need i a girdle??
..I am afraid my English is a bit rusty.
thanks#

Denis,
Your English is fine...much better than my German!
No girdle needed for a mild cruiser. An aluminum axle cover will lower the temperature of the gear oil but (most importantly) they LOOK REAL COOL!
You can find the W-27 style Olds axle covers at Fusicks, Year One, Supercars Unlimited, or even Ebay.
And welcome to classicoldsmobile!
