Two early 14X6 SSI wheels, 1966? 50795C
I have a pair of 14X6 SSI wheels from I believe 1966. They will not fit on disc brakes and have a chrome rim, not the stainless trim ring. I would consider them driver quality as they have flaws but once cleaned up would look good from 10 feet away. Price is $125 plus shipping from Medford Oregon. Yes, the 795C wheel is correct for '66 and '67, but not '68. The SSI was not an option in 1968.
Demand is not what it used to be simply because repop wheels are available and not too expensive. So *generally* originals have to be in exceptionally good condition to bring much money.
Personally, I don't like the repops. Biggest problem is that the chrome is *too* good, and they stick out like a sore thumb. On the plus side they are available in wider 14" sizes and 15" sizes too. But unfortunately that too adds to the non-stock look.
Funny how some guys will put too-large too-shiny wheels on a car with too-shiny and deep paint, then they're **** about chalk marks on the firewall.

Thank you for your thoughts, that's probably true that many people would rather purchase a set of nice repop wheels rather than driver quality originals. Randy stopped by to look at them and shared he thought there was a possibility of them being ordered in 1968. I am not an expert on these but decided it wouldn't hurt to add the 1968 year in the ebay ad.
If I don't sell them then I'll put them in the back of the shed to keep for trade stock, or if someone makes a post their looking for them. John

Condition means every thing for a used oem chrome wheel. They are either rusty or not rusty. I recently purchased an extra clean wheel and gladly paid 125.00 for it. I want 10 wheels for 2 cars and they not easy to find in clean shape.
