selling a 1968 auto w-30 engine

I will soon be selling a 1968 automatic w-30 long block. Engine # is 38m263410. Not sure the best way to sell it maybe just ebay. Engine was removed in 1970 and stored. All standard bore original pistons and uncut heads with correct cam.

Given the crazy prices people are asking I am guessing the heads will sell in the range of 2500 to 3000. The ones on ebay for 5300 and 7000 did not sell and may never sell and maybe my 3000 heads wont sell either. I was going to use the 400 w-30 shortblock with a set of 455 heads in my 1970 vista cruiser but was convinced by some olds guys that the newly rebuilt, installed in the car and running, 350 with cam, aluminum intake, headers and ram air will move the bomb along just fine. It is a really heavy car and will never be a tire burner. Lee

You wont have a problem selling them on ebay you do take a hit from selling fee's and pay pal You could get a good tax write off if you just pack them up and send them to a freind of mine . Can send you the
Tax forms and everything . He will even pay shipping

Sell the whole engien together. The heads will draw the attention. You "might" get a little more if you separated everything, but the block will take awhile to sell by itself. It's been together this long.Might as well keep it that way.

I just missed out on this, it had no bids up until the last day. I asked for more pics and info and within hours the BIN was hit. Just food for thought, seems to me these don't bring much w/out the D heads.

I will keep the engine together. I agree with both of you that a 400 ci w-30 shortblock has little value without the heads. This one is a little better than most because it is "as built" from gm with the original pistons and cam, less bearings, rings and gaskets. I would still probably fully inspect the engine before putting it into a car so when I list it I will recommend full inspection. Lee
