rally pac oil pressure sender

The elbow by itself is worth 20.00 The sender (new) at Fusicks lists for 65.00
BTW, what year car was this removed from? GM elbow & sending unit is pretty 'open' They had these from 67 - 85 I think, but the pressure ratings are different on the senders for different years and car brands.

Are Fusicks parts GM OEM?
These are. This style sender was used by the factory on 1973 and newer Olds and Chevy. It has the # 80 stamped into it near the threads. I was told this gizmo and the elbow were worth $75. I priced it at $50 , with shipping included , to sell it. I have no use for it.

I think your pricing and shipping is very fair. For someone who lives in the lower 48 it would be a great deal! Good luck, hope you are able to sell it

there were two types of elbows offered, the older elbow is narrower and has a longer 'stem" it looks like both these parts are off of later cars (73+ as mentioned). Still valuable - an original 70 sending unit actually has squared off edges up near the top of the dome of the unit so that a wrench could be used to tighten it (at least that's what it looks like).

I just went and looked at the one sitting in my parts drawer. It's the one I mentioned having the '60' stamped on the base. There's no julien date on the housing, but on the opposite side of the '60' there is a smaller stamping that has '1958' on it. I know that's not the date, but do you have any idea what it is for? Any chance you can check your 72 and see if it has a number like that stamped into the base?

The sender I have has 80 stamped on one side near the threads (pressure?) . Otherside has 3545 Would that be 354th day 5 year. Maybe a 1976 car???
Doug told me this shape sender was used 73 on up. please advise!
Thanks

I've got the same question now too. Is mine (1958) from 1968 or 1978? It doesn't have the indent on the top of the dome, but looks like it's the same size and has the same squared off brass fitting.

this is an original one from a 72 W-30. it is stamped
80 646 2137 004 2
other than that, the only thing stamped on it is MADE IN USA at the top. would anyone know the date of this one by these numbers?

No problem! Are you going to share the long story?

i guess it is not that long... i was driving with some friends in the W-30 and i always watched the oil pressure gauge. the car only had 16,000 miles but it leaked oil out of almost every gasket on the engine. it had dried out pretty bad from sitting so long. i was always worried i would spring a big leak so i always had an eye on the gauge. we were at a stop light and i seen the gauge go to 0. i turned off the engine and we pushed it to a car wash. it was still full of oil. we walked to a friends car on the other end of town and was going to drive to my parents house and get the sending unit off of my Rallye 350 to see if that was the problem. we ran out of gas on the way to my parents house. after getting gas and finding out way back to the 442 we put on the other sending unit and it had pressure. i started home with it and then lost it again. i later found that the wire terminal that hooked to the sender was loose on the sending unit. i just took needle nose pliers and squeezed the terminal so that it made a tighter connection. after i sold the car i ran across this one and tested it in my Rallye 350 and it worked. i took it back out because i didn't want to use it in the Rallye.
