Parts identification when you don't have #

Can someone tell me the best way to get help with the identification of parts. I bought several boxes of NOS parts from a dealership which closed in 1960. Some don't have numbers and I can't really recognize them. I have photos. I have kept them in hopes of trading for 36 Olds parts but have decided to sell them off I need the room and the money.

I thought i added photos. My bust. I was also wondering what GM Olds part number 982529 group 10.185 will fit. Says 49 olds two models on instructions but it may fit other years. it's a mirror right side in box. Thanks in advance for any help I can get on this. Rick

OK. That makes senses on the backup delete since it looked like something which belonged on a fender corner. I thought the other may have been a radio delete since it was removed and placed on the shelf at the dealer and was in mint condition. I' ve been looking at photos of Older cars and the front plate looks similiar to piece I saw on the lower grill of a 36. Thanks and hopefully someone may be able to assist with the others. I have more.

I have a 1963 issue Olds parts catalog. If you can send me a list of the part numbers (including group number) I may be able to identify them for you.
Send them to me in a PM.
Chuck

I was only able to positively identify one part. Sometimes the cast number is not the same number in the book. Also, some of these parts may be older than the scope of my book (1949-1963). Here goes;
1. 5942778 park lamp lens. Group 2.589
1952 Ninety-eight

2. 118827 voltage regulator. This number is incorrect, voltage regulators should have a 7 digit number. If this number is 1118827 group 2.500 then it fits ;

1951 with 45 amp generator and 1952 all models

3. 5935294 park lamp lens group 2.589.
By the part number it is pre 49.
4. 562588 radio cover plate, group 10.256
probably 1956 judging by the number

5. 5930277 lens;
probably pre 49

6. 5951752 lock surround
by the number probably 1961 or 62

7. 983499 no clue

Google is your friend
even if you have only a cast-in number, not a GM PN with Group #

"lens 5959678" might ID a lens marked like that for example

I found all the parts books finally. When I bought out the dealership it had many parts books and i got most of them. I found them so this helped a lot. There are still a couple which are tough because the number just don't seem to come up anywhere including the books. I found one that went all the way back to 37. I am still looking for 36 olds parts. Thanks and you are very correct about google. I't truely amazing how much data has been posted on-line. Rick.
