KA heads typically indicate an original industrial or marine application, but they could have been installed on a block from any other application.

Here's where to look for the VIN pad info on the block. A marine block may have a different numbering scheme that what is shown below for automotive applications.

KA heads are 1973-76, primarily on marine engines. Motors that were originally marine/industrial installations will not have a conventional VIN derivative stamp but may have a different numbering scheme with an "L" as part of the stamp.

Block casting # has the "A" after it, which is common for marine.

I've seen "390 HORSEPOWER" decals on many Hardin-Marine valve covers. Don't know about the engine internals.

FA blocks were common for all 1973-76 applications, not just marine.
