Interesting piece, but how does it work? I can't recall seeing a magnetic one(?)

When the cap is installed, it will click and automatically be locked. 1st picture. To unlock, put the magnetic key in place and turn slightly. It will click and be unlocked. 2nd. and 3rd. pictures.

My guess is the D-shaped "key" fits in the D-shaped recess in the cap and turns a lock cylinder, releasing the cap. Or the magnet on the "key" releases it. Neat piece that I've never seen.
