Reason: price change
According to my GM Parts System, the part number listed (22514960) is for the front fenders of 4-door (G69) Cutlass Supreme.. The Cutlass Supreme emblem for the G47 2-Door mounted behind the rear quarter window is part number 20085597... The G47 did not use a script on the front fenders,,, Can't say what the actual physical difference is between the two emblems except GM may have done it for accountability purposes... GM is well known for having identical parts with two different part numbers, like I said, probably for accountability ..
I guess they could but im pretty sure 8.147 is the group number for the front fenders and since thats on the package I would check your application.
Sorry. I jumped the gun on it. Didn't look at the part numbers and I keep forgetting 4-doors were different in some regards. I'm so used to the 2 door versions.
It may be usage tracking if they use the identical part, but that would be the first to my knowledge of that being used on a G-body. It may simply be a bit larger or smaller than the sail panel ones, if I were to guess. It's the same shape and style, otherwise. To the best of my knowledge as far as G-body parts, the General usually didn't give the same exact parts different catalog part numbers within the same model year unless the vendor or something else changed, as in a supersession number. There must be something different about the sail panel and front fender emblems. Probably the dumbest thing about the parts book concerning this style of part is that if you have a Cutlass Supreme and needed sail panel emblems, the callout says "1", as in 1 per car. Derp! All other sail panel emblems call out for 2 per car. As it should be.
