N-93 complete set

I just purchased a car that came with 5 of the super rare N-93 wheels rims and center caps. The set is concourse quality! I may consider selling the set due to some things I want to do to the car! Can anyone help me with what a fair price would be for these? Any interest at all? These are on a Starfire now Thank you Fred 917-545-1641

They can range from 100 a rim to 200 a rim. I have 8 total... driver quality, and I think I paid 500 for all 8. If they are as nice as you say they are with excellent condition trim rings and caps you can easily ask 1000.

The aluminum rim that was an option on the 78-79 Cutlass and 78-79-80 442 and Hurst Olds. Some were gold tinted and some silver tinted.

Oops, I was under the impression that those were the proper order code for the Super Stock IV wheels from the early 70's Delta 88's ... My bad. Hey I may want to buy those now

What was different about the special N-93 steel wheel from the stock steel wheel?

They had a deeper dish. The bolt on covers won't fit a standard steel wheel. Also there were more holes to accept the cover bolts.

Were the steel wheels wider or same width as standard wheels? They are sharp looking wheel covers. I always liked the '64 Starfire and the functional fender vents. Wonder why Oldsmobile never used functional vents again? Guess Motor Wheel went one step further, and instead of bolting a wheel cover to a steel wheel, Motor Wheel molded the cover to the steel wheel.

I believe they we 6 inch wheels with a different offset. Trouble with the covers was MANY shops thought they were hubcaps and broke them as they did not know they bolted on and not pry off like most everything they ever saw...

The optional spoke hubcaps on my brother's 1954 Ninety-Eight bolted on with the lug nuts, with the center cap covering the lugs. Is that how the N-93 hubcaps bolt to the steel wheel?

3 holes in the wheel for 3 studs that stick out from behind. Nuts hold the cover on (3). You remove center spinner to get to the nuts.

Interesting. Thanks for the information on these special covers and wheels. They do make a big difference when used.

some references to these "wheel covers" claim they are magnesium, are they?

They could be magnesium I don't know. They are a bit brittle like cast aluminum. One reason the wheels are scarce because a lot of people did not know special wheels were needed and saved the covers but junked the wheels... Then too they were only an option in 64 and 65 and not many opted for them. By the way I let a set of 4 go with my Delta that I recently sold with a couple of extra covers and nice 225-75[14 Goodyear arriva tires for 750 bucks.

Was the 750.00 for the entire set of wheels covers and caps? Tires that you had are probably 10 plus years old! I too had a set of these with car and tire company would not touch them! thanks Fred

Yeah 750 for everything tires too, probably could have gotten more but just broke even on them..... they were nice/decent driver quality. I have no problem using older radial tires and shops have to cover their azzes and avoid law suits ever since the Firestone incident.
