so you need the 7040258 carb which is a bit easier to find and cheaper than the 256 carb also the 979 dist is correct for your application but it has been said that many early W30s have the 977 distributor on them.

Both my automatics have 258 and 979

Sorry I missed your call tonight. I have a 979 distributor that is in great working condition and cosmetically perfect but unfortunately when they are in the car you can hardly see it The distributor is still in my car but I will get it out and take a picture if you are a serious buyer.
