Does the Edelbrock O4B manifold have the same casting as a stock 455 manifold? Not sure if it was this Edelbrock manifold or not. Looking for the direct replacement spread bore manifold Edelbrock made back in the day so as to replace the factory cast iron manifold.

Anthony, I just put an O4B on one of my '72 455s last summer, specifically to be able to use a Quadrajet and the factory dual snorkel air cleaner. It's much closer to the stock casting than the Performer that I removed, but the O4B is about a half inch taller than the cast iron intake. I found that out when lining up the tubes from the valve cover breathers to the air cleaner housing. It worked out fine in the end, but the minor height difference caught me off guard. Some of these are cast with a rounded wider rear carb opening to fit Quadrajets and some are not.

Hi Terry.

Thanks for the information. I recall an Edelbrock manifold that seemed to be an exact casting of the stock Olds cast iron manifold, not unlike the 70-72 W-30 intake manifold. It also had 455, and I think Oldsmobile, casted into it.

The seller hasn't signed in to CO since Feb 2015 so you may be waiting a while for a response.
You may want to try a parts wanted thread someone else may have one.
