How much have those heads been milled? It takes quite a bit to get down to the core numbers.

Aren't factory W-machine castings cut more like that? Or is it just my imagination? Part of the secrets of power.

There are no functionality or longevity issues with these heads. All work was properly performed by a Professional Engine Builder.

FWIW, while we didn't rebuild these heads we are familiar with who did, and we have a Master Engine Builder on staff at NicKey enterprises, so we know a bit about rebuilding late model as well as vintage engines.

Do you know what CC they are?
Are those stock GM valves they look like they have a larger dish than factory valves?

CC'ing the combustion chamber is one positive way to determine how much these heads have been resurfaced. I have to say that after my observation of the pics, it looks like they did a mimimal amount of surface removal. Nothing out of the ordinary or major here. They look good to me as i have done MANY Oldsmobile engine rebuils on W engines to compare to, F, D, H heads ect. Yes the exhaust valves look a little more "recessed" in the middle and i dont think that it will effect the compression ratio that much.

Good luck with the sale Stefano. I have seen these heads first hand prior to your aquiring them.

The heads were not CC'd and there will not be any compression issues with the heads and or valves. If someone needs to know the exact CC's prior to making a purchase decision I will measure for you.

Care was taken to remove the only the minimum amount of material necessary....less than .005. This is why you can still see some minor pitting on the surface. That is because the machinist took care to not remove any more metal than absolutely necessary.
