C heads for sale
I have a set of C heads that came off a 1967 425 engine. They have the small intake valves and I've had them hot tanked and magged. They will fit the 400, 425 and 455 engines. I would like $125 plus shipping for them. One package for each head with valves and springs on them, the rockers would be in a third package if the buyer wants them. I'm located in Medford Oregon, zip 97501 if you want to check shipping the packages for each head will weigh about 55 pounds and be 26"X8"X7". If you need help with a shipping estimate send me your zip code, in my part of the country FedEx ground is the cheapest most of the time. John

Your engine should have the B heads on it if its original. Those have a different angle for the lifters. I think the C heads would need the hole for the pushrods opened up more to provide the correct angle. But I'm not an expert, that might be a good question to post for the other guys on the board. I do have a 1966 Toronado 425 for parts, it has the large valve B heads on it. It would be next weekend before I could get them pulled, and I would want to have them hot tanked and magged here to assure there's no cracks before shipping. I'd take $175 for the pair plus shipping and that includes the costs at the machine shop to have them cleaned and checked. John

Hey Bo
If your G heads have porting work I think your ahead of a set of stock C heads. I've heard but don't know if it's fact or not that C heads can be ported to flow better than other castings. But in stock form I don't know if the A, B, C, E, G, Ga or Ka castings are significantly better than each other. If you have the small intake valves (2.0) then you can have the seats cut out for the larger (2.07) valves. You could post a question with your goals and have one of the guys into racing or at least serious performance tell you what you'd need to do to get it. John

Shipping for me would be $126 for UPS and Fedex. My ZIP is 18940
Let me think about it, it's a good deal and they are ready to go. Of course I do not havbe an engine to put them on right now, but I'm working towards it. I'll be doing another small block Olds.
What is the casting numbers?

Chris, I do have a good crank but shipping will add a few $$. If you haven't posted a parts wanted ad yet you might give that a try, and post the state your in. The only Rockford I can think of is in Illinois and I believe there's a lot of guys closer to you than I am.
Redog, is your message to me or one of the other guys? Not sure what your replying to. John

`Sorry John, I should have made my question more clear.
Yes it's about the "C" heads you have. I would like to know the casting number, 67 should have been 394548, but the main question is do they have the "drill spot" also?
The Drill Spot heads are 2.07 on the intake, the non drill spot are 2.00.

Glad you found something close to you Bo. I don't know the details on the drill spot, but if you do a search with key words you may find threads that have discussed it. In my opinion if you plan to work over the heads it doesn't matter if they are already factory 2.07 intake valves or not, as the factory used the same castings for both. They just cut out the valve seat for whatever size intake valves they chose to use. So you can have a set with the 2.0 intakes and have your machine shop cut them out for the 2.07 intakes and they'll function just like the factory large valve heads. I also had a set of heads done with the exhaust cut out from 1.68 to I believe 1.72. The way I plan to use the heads it may not make a difference, but in race applications you could look into it.
