Hopefully you also were able to get the hood hinges (or at least the springs) and the pop-up spring..... they are different from the steel hood...............

The 81/88 hoods are rarer than the 78 to80. If you did not pick up the hood hinge springs and lach spring you can get the lighter springs off the more abundant 78/80 alum hood cars. The latch and hood hinge springs are not as stiff as the steel hood springs.$200 is a good price for a 81/88 hood I paid more for mine.If you place a parts wanted add on this forum , Olds Power , G body forum some one should come through with a set. I think factory alum parts are very cool and worth the extra $$$$$

I sold new Oldsmobiles during those years and the "Cutlass" name plate at one time was the BEST selling car in the auto industry---Oldsmobile in general was third in the industry in total sales.
I remember the aluminum hoods, but honestly, can't remember what particular models had them. I'm not sure what options (or lack of) designated that the aluminum hood be installed. At the time, they were just another unit to get "over the curb".
I know some of the N.H.R.A. stockers seek the hoods, so if the seller here doesn't have any luck, you might try one of the racer sites.
