Got a 78 Toro, 46 k miles. 1 owner. Have Original bill of sale, all the registrations, repair bills, but No TITLE. Paint is shot but it's a straight solid car with many excellent parts, especially considering its a north east car (New Jersey)
Fenders $375 ea
Doors $375 ea
Hood $375
bumpers $350 ea
deck lid $300
403 46k miles $800
Looks pretty complete! Have you looked into trying to get a title and selling it whole? I ask because I parted out one similar to this a few years ago, but mine was rusty. I was only able to sell a small amount of the parts. Most of it went to the crusher. Nice driving cars, but not a whole lot of them being restored.
Never done it. Owner died. Family wanted nothing to do with th car from what I was told. It is a solid, one owner, low mileage car running driving ca, paint is shot. Has a wierd alarm, kill switch, car runs but lights flash, windows , wipers work sometimes work sometimes don't.
interior is beautiful. I have receipts, original bill of sale, but no title.
Man, you should really look into it. I would think for the effort required you could have a pretty decent car even if you don't care for it someone here would...
Hello Bigdooley!
Nice car you have, I would like to buy some parts of it. The instrument panel, complete with gauges, both halfes, wit all switches and woodgrain pieces. Not the radio, but the panel around it. Do NOT need the glove box door. Then, the famous "programmer" for Tempmatic (if the car has it)on the RH heater box with two ribbed hoses and connectors to the RH speaker grille. That will be two big boxes, but possible to ship.
I am a new member from Sweden, with a rusty, compared to yours, Toronado.

All of that is there and seems in good shape, with the exception of the fillers. The rear fillers are aftermarket pieces, not original. They don't fit perfectly. I will post photos later.
shipping this items won't be a problem. I've shipped parts all over the world.
Jim
Definitely not Oem originals.
fit and finish is not perfect. A good body man should be able to work with them. I aquired a set of fiberglass front fillers for a 75 Delta 88, and they were 100% garbage.
Not working, there's an amp too, aoogha horns, a terrible vintage alarm, a kill switch. Got it to run, but alarm flashing lights, no siren. Some other weird **** up under the dash. Oh,and an old passport, or cobra radar detector.
Gee a Craig deck not working? No way.
I would love to see what alarm is in there. I am going to guess Viper. I probably can still call the wire colors off the top of my head.
Jim, I can see that my own Fillers is the same "shape". The instrument panel looks great , I wish I could get the BIG dash pad also, but have not figured out how to get it here. But we start with the panel pieces., that can be shipped normally. .
I know a guy in McConnelsburg (Harrisburg area) , maybe I can work something out with him,
regards /Peter
OH, I forgot..The plastic extensions between bumper and quarter , They are very needed!
I purchased these for my '78 Toronado, on which the extensions were completely gone. They're not as flexible as the originals, but I think they look great, and they sure look better than nothing at all.
Here's the before and after. The car was repainted when the fender extensions were installed. Done by a great local shop.
The thing about trying to locate originals of these is that anything you find is likely to be in just as bad a shape as what's on your car. They deteriorate due to age, not because of mileage. The extensions on any parts car are just as old as the ones on your car.
P518, motor was sold yesterday.
I changed ignition tumbler, searched for alarm, ended up finding a kill switch, it started right up.
No smoke, no noise, it purred like a kitten.
