I believe that will also be correct for 1971. And, for coupes, not convertibles.

Very cool option in my opinion.

It was available for 72 convertibles, but it has a little different plastic trim piece, and maybe the bracket. Not sure, but I would think for 71 convertibles also.

lshlsh2, could you post some pictures of your rear view mirror? I have a lighted one out of a 4door and would like to see what the differences are. Thanks!

I think its a 72 model year mirror because the backing is not SS, earlier years had an SS backing not black

72 model year
indicators
- mirror housing is all black
- rubber seal holding glass is also black.

Yes it will fit 70-72, but is technically correct only for 72.

I guess it's possible, BUT our first 72 Cutlass S that Dad bought off the showroom floor in Sept of 71 had the black mirror. Also had power drum brakes all around. Maybe some of the other plants had leftover stock to use up, and knowing GM? Anything's possible.

The mirror I pulled from 72 cutlass 4 door has black back (with map light) the mirror in the 72 convertible has ss back... I know the one in the 4 door was original, and fairly certain the ss one in the vert is as well...
