'72 350 Quadrajet 7042250

this carb was rebuilt/modified with a Stage 2 upgrade + new electric choke by Quadrajet Power within the last year. Acceleration and low end power response definitely improved but I couldn't get the motor to idle well enough for my liking.

I'm only guessing my Howards Street Performance cam may be a bit too mild for the upgrades. As such, selling as is = $200 shipped within lower 48 states.

I paid $325 and used on the car for less than 20 miles before removing. Has been packed away in original box ever since.

Please post your interest here first then PM if interested. thanks.

Do you have any information on what the stage II mods are? What says this is a 350 versus 455 carb? Just the application you pulled it from?

Interested somewhat by the numbers on the carb.

Still have it - if you go to Mark's website Quadrajetpower.com it explains the stage mods offered - stage II is a street performance upgrade. He confirmed the carb as being a '72 factory Olds 350 unit - that part didn't matter so much to me as long as it performed. He replaced the hot air choke with electric, fully tore the core down, cleaned, modified and rebuilt with all fresh, ethanol-friendly parts.

It did kick some added power into the motor, but idle remained choppier than I really wanted, which may simply be a product of my cam being a bit too light for the mods.

If you don't find the info you're looking for on his site, I'll dig through my docs to see what else I can provide

per this link http://www.carburetion.com/CarbNumbe...Number=7042250 appears it was used on 72-74 Olds 350

thanks

If you’re wondering if it can be used on a 455, it probably can. I’m running a 7042250 on my very stock rebuilt 455. The secondary hanger and rods need to be switched out to a much thinner rod and matching hanger though. Mine ran very lean at WOT until I did this. I also had to tighten the tension on the secondary air door because it was bogging out of the hole.
