EDIT AND ADD: I compared this mirror to the original sport mirrors on a '71 442 and it is the same mirror housing and pedestal/base.

Hi, any idea if this came off a cutlass or camaro. I've read they are similar but slightly different. Thanks

Hoffman - I'll check it out by comparing the parts to a '71/2 Cutlass/442 w/original sport mirrors.

The camaro and firebird used the same mirror housing and only changed the mounting gasket. The chevelle mirror has a different base.

Thanks - I haven't gotten over to check this against an Olds yet BUT it's the shorter pedestal on this one and I believe that's what original '71/2 Cutlass, etc used. I've seen the tall pedestal style and this isn't one of them.

Still....I'll double check.

Compared this mirror to a '71 442 w/original sport mirrors and mine is correct for the car. Our cars use the short pedestal instead of the taller pedestal found on some other cars - this mirror setup is the short pedestal just like the car I compared this to.
