Local to you, no. Local to me, there is a guy who has been doing it for as long as I can remember, but I have never used him.

It means "to the top".... Bump means the same. Just refreshes the thread when it gets buried.

The mechanics of it is going to be a 750. The W-30 didn't even have the 800.

what points to this being a w-30 carb? what do you mean by mechanics...if you have some specific insight to what it came from by looking at pics of the outside i'd like to know cause all i know is how to look at a code
from the code it just shows it is a 72 carb from any oldsmobile, and maybe from a manual transmission...
so it is possible that it is a "bump" 800, simple pic will verify

nothing on the outside. the 2251 in a 72 Oldsmobile 455 carb from any standard 4bbl 455. The W-30 of the same year is more performance and didn't even have the 800. I don't have a 2251 but it should be the same as my 1251 and 0251 and they are both 750.

For the "mechanics" I just mean that just because it is a 750 or an 800 don't mean it is set up to use all the CFM the carb is capable of. There are 750s on cars that only use 600 of it and all sorts of combinations. I am not a q jet expert and i am sure others could explain much better than i can.

Sorry Erik, didn't mean to derail your thread.

yeah, it's hard to tell... I can't see close enough from the pics looking down into the primary to see if it has small rings and bumps on the sides of the inlet port
no bumps.. is a 750
800 circled in yellow

I don't know anyone in the central part of the state, but there is a guy that comes highly recommended here on LI as per my engine builder. I do know he's been around as long as I've been living here and that's 28 yrs....

Duah I really must be losing it. I looked at LI and thought it was IL which is short for Illion NY which is obviously central NY. Far from LI. Can you forward this carb gurus info? IM it if you dont want to publish.
