Don't know core value, but it's from a 70 W-30 455 MT, probably worth a few bucks if it's a good core (rebuildable).

Pete,

If you have one...KEEP IT! That carb is one of thoe "Holy Grail" things. They go for several hundred on ebay and the prce only goes up.

q jet 7040256

went to an auction this summer small town repair shop going out of business. was looking to buy a cylinder head for my 392 international.( valves ground surfaced $10.00).there were piles of carbs saw a front inlet q-jet put it in a pile with several other q-jets and got them. got it home was going to put it on my GTO. got a kit for it. took it apart there was no power valve. remembered in doug roe's book he said tongue in cheek i know what to do with the power valve take it out. so i assumed someone had taken it out to improve performance. so i popped out the brass plug and put in a power piston and metering rods. put on a different air horn i had modified then i decied the primary shaft was loose . put on the throttle body off another q-jet with good shaft play.by the time i got this far it was too cold to drive the convertable. i was reading on the 442 website found where the 70 W-30 31 carbs were made with out primary rods or power piston . the # was the same as my carb .now im debating useing it on the gto cause it can be converted to electric choke easily or selling it.

W-30 carbs didn't use power valves.

Do you have the original throttle plate?

Check your PMs.

Purchased a 1970 442 W-30 in 1973. Have kept it insured and registered since. Have maybe put a total of 2000 miles on the car since I bought it. I'm trying to locate the original carburetor #7040256 and distributor #111977. If you have either one or know where I could find either one of these items please let me know. Thanks, Joe
