70 W30 intake manifold, nice original

Original 1970 W30 intake in great condition. 'OLDS W-455' version. No cracks or other damage like stripped threads, warping, corrosion, modifications, etc. I can't find anything wrong with it at all, other than being a little dirty. One other very nice plus about this one is that it has NEVER been blasted, so it still has that original aluminum luster. When these are bead blasted, it ruins that original finish that is so important for a correct restoration. Part # 406115, 12-12-69 date on bottom, Winters snowflake is crisp. Still has some factory applied 455 blue overspray on the rear. I've had this one for quite a while, been hanging onto it because of it's very nice condition. $850 plus $20 shipping within lower 48 states. Cashiers check, personal check (must clear before shipment), or money order. Thanks for looking!

This was the first casting date for the half word. The ones cast in late November, still had the whole word. These began showing up on cars in late January/70,and used through the rest of 70 production.
The 71-72 intake got a larger rear water port, and a different casting number.

Very interesting, never knew the early 1970 W-30 intakes had "Oldsmobile" on them, thought they all had "Olds" on them in 1970. Pays to check the date and casting number.

Does anyone know why Oldsmobile changed from "OLDSMOBILE" to "OLDS" starting with the December 1969 casting dates for the '70 W-30 intake manifolds? Is there any official Oldsmobile documentation, besides the casting dates, showing the change?

Does anyone have a pre-December 1969 dated W-30 intake manifold showing the "OLDSMOBILE" casting?

Thanks,
Anthony

The mold was broke or damaged, and when it was repaired,it did not have the whole word.I have 3 of the earlier intakes, and have owned about 10 others.

Do you realize this is a six-year-old post?
