70 w30 block

70 w30 block
I'm not sure where to post this. I'm putting my stripped car back together. I have a 70 w30 replacement short block that has been with the car for about 48 yrs. I pulled it out 6yrs. ago and parked it on an engine stand. I pulled the pan today to inspect it before I put it back in the car. # 4 main bearing is wiped everything else in the motor looks fresh. I'm considering selling the short block and building a 400 E block. What is an F block worth stamped

Had a post on here several years ago trying to figure out the odd numbers, The thinking at the time was it was from a boat or industrial use. Apologize for the hi-jack of your thread, just got excited when I saw the similar numbers on another block.

Unfortunately theres no "w30" block. The 455 block that would have been standard in your w30 would be the same block that would have came in your base 442. The heads, camshaft, carb, distributor, w-455 intake, etc would be the things that make it a W30, but the blocks were the same as any other 455 block. However, if your block is a 1970 block ( it will have a #3 next to the distributor hole) then it is more desirable then say a 71-72 block and generally pull a few bucks more. But as stated above, its just a standard core block.
