Just an FYI, the black bottles are only 68/69. In 1970 it changed to a white bottle.

Well hi Allan, Merry Christmas to you and yours. Thank you for that bit of info.
I DO like learning something new everday. Now you have raised a question.

Could the factory have sent out the rad overfill bottle if so ordered? I think it may have been dealer installed item. Also in white, in the 70-71 model? I have one, I removed it from a 71 S myself along with the chrome SS-1's that are on my 69 project. Here is a pic of the bottle.

That's a universal coolant overflow bottle. Available at most local autoparts stores. Part# BVR-4

What he said ^^^. The coolant overflow from GM was a dealer install and looks completely different. They are repopped and sell for around 200.00. An OEM has the part number and fill levels molded into the plastic, something the repops don't. I have an OEM in my car.

Those bottles as shown above are GM. There is an NOS one on eBay in the original GM box. Although I do have some of the other style that Allan is referring to.

Do you have any OEM white washer bottles in good condition? Most of the ones I see are brittle or badly yellowed and ready to break.

I wish I knew what to do on my 67. I wonder if the 68-69 ones would fit well enough to look ok.

The '68 & '69's did not have an overflow bottle, so I used a '72 bottle mounted in the same position as '72. Try one of those bottles in the above picture. Or go to the auto mall and look under some hoods and see what you can find that will suit your application.

White washer bottles.

Well it seems I missed these two until today. Both are white, sorta.
I believe the more oblong one is a 80-88? Not sure the # on it is 25506641.

Is the more square one (on the right) an OEM jar or a repop? If it is I'm interested and would like to be first in line. I bought a repop and installed it a few years ago but the front plastic mounting tabs do not line up with the holes in the inner liner.

Here's some better pics Al. There is about a 3/8 diff in the bottom two mounting holes.
The white jug looks to be about 4 5/8. The black jug is 5 to 5 &1/8.

Does the white jar have a number molded onto it? From the first pic it looks like it's one of the repops with the narrower distance between the mounts.

Thank you for checking. For now I'll just have to stay with my repop till I find a good OEM one. Good luck with the sales on the other jars!

Here's the link for anyone who has a spare 160.00 + shipping.

I have one just like that in the shed. No way it's worth that coin though.

Ted, I don't know the exact lenght but it is similar to the ones that holds the center cap on the SS II wheels. Or the plastic headlight housings to the radiator core support.
