Same here. Glad we that option and I put it to good use.

Should have been more clear, this is the one I purchased.

Already have the tri-carbs on the car but wanted the real deal shroud and another tri-carb set up never hurts. Running the tri-carbs on my '65 442 and love it, best driving car I have.

Update: I asked for more information on the tri-carb set up and discovered that it is not complete, has incorrect carbs, and was swap meet piece meal purchases. I cancelled the purchase due to the intake and carbs not worth much and feel the shroud is not worth the asking price. It was not mis-represented, just not represented!

Having had some time to kick that around with the Nats come and gone, are you sure it wasn't worth the asking money figuring what you get for the price?
  • Numbered shroud which doesn't mean much for your '68 but 'makes the car' and value for a '66 W-30 and still adds the same value to your '68 due to scarcity
  • Intake regardless of AZ AU etc
  • Some misc parts.
The numbered shroud and intake alone might make that asking price figuring $2k for the bare intake in 2023 prices. The carbs, new block-offs and everything else of importance correct for '66 are pretty easy to get from Mike R and others. A un-numbered earlier chrome-plated-top shroud in exc condition made nearly that price in a recent sale between strangers.

A man has to trust his gut, I respect another guy making his informed decision. Good luck ~
