65 starfire parts for sale
Seeing if there's any interest in these. I can get some pics up soonish if there's anyone that wants more details.
- 425 engine in good shape. no carb or accessories on it. Still his NICE bright red paint that I believe is original. Low mileage @ around 70K I believe.
- switch pitch TH400 trans (was mated to the above engine)
- 65 taillights in useable shape. minor pitting, but quite good considering the age.
- full headlight buckets & trim. both sides.
- power steering pump & bracket
- tilt & telescope column with column shift in light blue with wheel. (I'm probably keeping this and repainting black to match mine, but I would trade for a black tilt/tele column without the shifter)
- spare console with shifter assy & tach.
- spare power steering pump
- all the cornering/marker lights off a '65 in excellent shape.
- misc engine/trans shift & throttle linkage pieces
- a dozen or so mismatched hubcaps. All oldsmobile. Would love to put together a set or two of 15" if I could trade out to some others I need.
-I think I have 5 of the 15" wheels that have the studs mounted to them for the bolt on center pieces. I have heard these are rare, but not sure how rare? All in nice shape. No dents, dings, curbing, etc. I do NOT have the center pieces that bolt to them unfortunately.
Let me know if anyone needs anything here, or wants more details. I'm not looking to sell them for bank, but I bought a whole truckload of stuff yesterday, and just looking to recoup some of the cost for the parts I am keeping. Any reasonable offers considered, or if anyone knows where I should start pricing some of this stuff so I can try and sell it locally on CL if there's nobody here needing them.
Oh, and I'm located near cincinnati. About 20m north. I have no problem shipping the smaler parts, but larger ones, I would prefer to be picked up in person. engine, trans, etc.
Thanks!
-Jeff

I wanted to make sure I was advertising the engine I have listed correctly, and apparently, they PO did not know exactly what it was he was selling me...
The engine appears to be a 455. Block casting is F 396021, which makes it a 68-72 455 block with E heads. Need to look a a little closer tonight to see if it's an early or late model, and then inspect he crank to see if I may have gotten really lucky and it's a forged one.
If it is the forged crank & early block, any ideas on what it may be worth? Can't find any specific pricing details on it. The only thing I'm finding on general searches is that engine cores for 455's seem to be in the neighborhood of ~$500
Details to follow, and any help would be appreciated.
F has no serifs, which ID it as a 68-70 455 block. Not the forged crank unfortunately. Asking $300 OBO for the engine.
Feel free to make an offer on any or all of it. I may have the lights sold already.

Pictures
Adding some pics. Sorry about the low quality. Taken with iPad. If anyone wants more detailed ones, just ask. I should have the better digital cam here soon. It went on a vacation trip...

Just a quick note to everyone that has responded. This past week and weekend turned insanely busy for me. I will respond to all ASAP, and I have more detailed pictures for people that have asked. I should be able to get details to everyone late tomorrow or Monday.
Thanks for the patience!

no back glass trim at all.
I think I still have a spare chrome hood center strip from a '66 Starfire up in the rafters. Haven't mentioned it because I haven't put my hands on it in a while.

I think I responded to everyone that PM'd me about any of these parts. If by some chance I missed someone that wanted more details, please let me know.
Also, here's a few more detailed pictures now that I finally got a good camera back home.

and yet again, a few more. There's a light here I can't quite identify as part of a 65/66 starfire. If anyone has clues...
There's also some LONG long stainless body moldings that dont fit either car. Again, if anyone has clues...?
Also, 3 hood hinges that the pair is in great shape, and the one extra has a bit of a bend to the front edge of it.
The last pic is a stand alone fuse block for wiring an entire car from scratch, complete with voltage reg, and the diagram for all the connections. I have no need for it, but if someone's building a hotrod, i would be a nice item to have.

Looks like some nice parts you have there; I'd say don't let those rims go too cheap, as they are pretty DARN rare. Tough pieces to find for sure, esp. with the "D" shaped mounting bolts you've got (carriage bolts will work to mount the easier-to-find-by-far covers, though they are not correct).

Might be a while. It's buried in the attic, and I haven't dug around up there in a long time. i'll try and get up there this weekend, as I need to dig the other console out of there too.

1965 Starfire convertible
I'm new to classicoldsmobile but I have 1965 convertible that's lacking tail lights. I saw that you have a pair for sale. Looks like what I need. Are they still available? What are you asking?
Thanks,
Russ
