This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but is a hard-to-find accessory.

Up for sale is one 983412 NOS Oldsmobile Mini Camper accessory package. I found this listed in some of my Oldsmobile dealer accessory part lists as fitting the 1973-74 Omega hatchback models. It probably fits the later 1975-77 Omega hatchbacks as well, but this is not documented.

The package is in very good condition and all of the components are present. It consists of:

• Camper/tent assembly
• Interior shade/cover (used to block the view into the sleeping area)
• Four pole sections to make two poles
• Adhesive Velcro tabs for attaching camper in hatchback weatherstrip gutter
• Clamps for retaining hatchback support cylinders
• Wood block for depressing interior light switch
• Nylon rope and two wood stakes for retaining canopy

The tent is made of a nylon material, similar to a 1970's windbreaker jacket. The interior shade/cover is a heavier coated canvas material. There is some minor mouse-chewing on the interior shade/cover where is was exposed through and opening in the part package. Also, there are some small dark spots where the zipper was against the tent material for decades. Those are the only issues that I could find with all of the components. The interior shade/cover is badly wrinkled from being tightly folded for so many years, but should straighten out with being laid flat and some warmth. There are absolutely no signs of any prior use or installation.

I don't have an X-body hatchback, so I had to drape the tent over the rear hatch on our Yukon XL for photos. The photos I have presented are just a few of what I took, so let me know if you would like more photos.

This camper is imprinted with "Omega MINI CAMPER", with the "Omega" looking like the nameplates on the vehicle. However, if someone were so inclined, it should work on any of the other Chevrolet, Pontiac or Buick X-body hatchbacks.
