Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I count 7 belt pairs. Is that two lap (fixed buckle with retractable tab) and two shoulder (adjustable buckle with fixed bolt-in tab) for front buckets, and three laps (adjustable buckle with fixed tab) for rear bench? Just wondering if I could somehow make it work for my supreme with bench front seat (3 laps) and no shoulders. I think the nickel buckles are sharp and the gold would look great with my saddle interior,

There are 5 belt pairs. 2 have the retract gizmos for outer location by the doors for front seat / seats. there would be 3 of the "fixed" belt pairs that could all be used for the back seat or you could use a pair on front bench and 2 pairs for back seat possibly.

The shoulder belts and the smaller / narrow female buckles would be extras that you could sell and recoup some $$$
OR one could use the webbing from the shoulder belts and attach to "male" buckle ends I just added to the seat belt deal

Do you still have these? If so, do you think they would work in a 76? I know the Colonnade body is different, but I know a lot of A-Body stuff will carry over from generation to generation. I'm just looking for the 2 shoulder belt assemblies.
Thanks, Rob.

No, your 76 uses a three point belt system. The 70 still used individual belts. So the front shoulder belt connected to the roof and had clips to hang the belt up when not in use. There were two female connectors for the driver and passenger each. The ones with the tiny heads were used for the shoulder belt and the larger size was the lap belt. You could probably use any GM belts from 73- and up, maybe even a G-Body depending on the length.

I feel your pain !
I know this is a old post, but you mentioned that Rudman was a # 1 Olds dealer in the Chicagoland area, try finding information on this Olds dealer in Downers Grove where My 56 came from, this is all I could find on the tiny 1 car show room Olds dealer, Dicke Oldsmobile Downers Grove Il. the pic is from the Downers Grove Historical Society.
I contacted them 3 times by E-Mail with no response.
so I kind of gave up. I will get bored some day and try again.
