1968 442 fender trim

I have a pair of nice fender peak moldings for a '68 442, $75.00 plus shipping. Also have the molded vinyl metal trim that goes on the upper edge of the deck lid on a vinyl top car, $40.00 plus shipping.

Maybe calling them "Peak Moldings" is the wrong term for these. They are the long two piece trim that runs along the top edge of the fender from front to rear for a '68 442.

1968 had a short piece of chrome plated pot metal right at the front of the fender. 1969 was stainless the whole way. Are these the stainless pieces from a 1968 less the pot metal piece?

1968 had 2 types. The first design had the pot metal piece at the front and late in the model year they changed to a single Stainless steel piece. 1969 used only the single piece.

Does this piece have both ends rounded(late68-69) or one side open(68)

I didn't realize that Mike. I guess I've only seen cars with the early style.

These are the stainless pieces with the pot metal front end pieces also so it is two pieces per side fitting the description of the earlier fender trim.

I've never seen a 68 with the single piece either but the assembly manual was definitely revised later in the production year to add the one piece trim
