1966 425 engine casting number 389244 D, .842 dia. lifters, 45 degree camshaft. B heads with 390390 cast iron intake. High compression pistons and big valve heads off a '66 442 tri carb engine. Distributor is dated '65 off a '65 Cutlass Carb is off a 1967 Cutlass 330 engine and I was running it on another car. I have shipped engines on a pallet across the country is the last couple of years for less than $300 truck freight.
The short block was a running engine, good compression, no smoke. But I removed the cam and lifters for a new engine build and reinstalled some old 425 parts. I was also running the carb. Heads need rebuilt. So rebuild the heads, buy new cam and lifters, new points, rotor and distributor cap and you have a running engine. Crank is drilled for manual and has bearing in place. If I parted it out the heads alone should be worth price, and a $200 crank shaft, $100 carb etc. I just need to get rid of stuff.
Trunk freight from Albuquerque or pick up off I-40.
