1955 Olds 98 4 door roof and firewall

Well, I don't know how something like this could be shipped. But the roof is in good shape. As is the windshield channel. I'll cut and ship whatever someone wants for $50-100 depending on how much time it takes to cut off what they want, package and ship. Any interest? I cringe to see good parts go to the crusher. Same with the firewall. This car had AC so it has the correct holes for the AC box attached to the engine compartment side of the firewall. And the dash vents for the inside. The floorboards are rotten. Although the area under the seat is good. I did pull a power bench seat from the car and will cut the portion of the floor with the supports for it to go with the seat track. Let me know if you have any questions, would like any measurements or additional photos. John

UPDATE: I've removed the roof and cut the front/rear portions off it. I still need to remove the firewall so I didn't want to replace this thread yet. But here's updated pictures on the roof portions. 1955 Olds 98 four door windshield frames and courtesy lights. - ClassicOldsmobile.com

I might be interested in the rear vent window, I can’t recall which side, the car is in storage at the time. The vent is very loose and does not hold steady, don’t know if something is broken or not, I know it has a spring at the base that keeps tension on it but will not know until I remove the door panel to inspect it. The glass and frame is nice. Shoot me a price on the vent in case I need it.

Yes, there is a piece next to the spring that is easily broken and can cause that. I pulled that glass out of a door for another member who had the same problem. When you find out let me know which one you need and I'll check to see if I have it.

Ok John, thanks, I probably won’t be getting the car out for a couple of months. I’ll be in touch

John, the part that you mention of being broke, is it incorporated into the frame of the glass or is it a separate part altogether? Is it easily assessable when the door panel is removed?

Its part of the assembly where the spring is located. When I removed the window from a door it was attached to the window frame. The person who bought it from me asked me to not open and close the window. He shared that unless its lubricated this piece can break from forcing the window opened or closed. Attached are a couple pictures of the assembly. I'm not sure, but believe its the pot metal bracket that breaks.

Great, thanks for the pictures! I’m sure that’s probably the part that is broken, makes sense to me.

Well, I keep getting distracted and pulled in other directions. But I really need the space and need to finish dismantling this car soon. Since there were no vinyl roof problems in this vintage I'm guessing there's little interest in the roof skin, especially on a 4 door car. So my plans are to cut the roof keeping the front window channel and sun visor support and the firewall for now. If I can tuck it behind the garage I'll save it until it gets in the way.
