One of the junk cars that I've been cleaning up on our old farm turns out to be what CO members have identified as a 1954-1956 Oldsmobile Rocket 88. There is nothing worth salvaging on the body but the engine looks to be surprisingly complete. It is probably not complete but it is more so than I would have thought. See attached photos. It has been sitting in the woods for at least fifty years. A helpful CO member also noted that the Hydra-Matic transmission might be worth saving and I will do so when I remove the engine from the rest of the vehicle. In the next week or so I will remove the engine/transmission and sit them aside for a couple more weeks to see if anyone is interested in them. I'm not looking to get rich on this, I just hate to see anything wasted that someone else might put to good use. So a fair price seems to be $200 for the engine/transmission and we'll arrange pickup at your convenience.
