Jim,

Can you clarify which gears these are for? I know the Richmond gears are a different series than the factory Olds gears and I wanted clarification on exactly which ones fit these diffs.

3 series ratios

3.08 3.23 GM gears
AND
Richmond 3.42 and 3.90 gears

WILL NOT fit 3.42 3.90 4.30 GM original gears.

Jim are these 28 spline or 31 ? 8.8 Ford conversions I assume so does it need the 45/90 degree spline axles like a 71-72 8.5 or the 30/60 degree 28 splines like 70 and older type O ?

12 bolty olds 28 spline

These are 28 spline. We have not had any slop issues with the splines on the side gear to axle fitment. These are the 8.8 ford units Yukon Eaton.

We have only one 8.8 31 spline unit left on the shelf. Standard 's' spring trac lock unit.

Can this directly replace the open carrier in a 1969 O-type Olds rear (12-bolt cover)? Will this accept the stock Olds axles from same?
