argent grey rallye wheel powder coating

Im am looking to redo my super stock II wheels for my 72 cutlass. I want to have them powder coated, has anyone done this and found a grey color powder that matchs the original argent grey color really close?

Thanks

Hmm, I had this done about 4 years ago, we compared color chips both indoors and outside in natural light to make sure that the colors matched my original spare wheel (in trunk of my car), and went ahead and had it done....except they turned out to be a brownish grey color that was not even close. $$$. I bought a couple of cans of Fusicks Argent Grey and repainted them. They now match the original spare.

It is tough to match powdercoat to wet coat paint. 1969w3155 has the best idea - order the proper colour match stuff or have your local parts house mix up a rattle can or two of the original code paint. I'm sure you'd do an awesome job painting them yourself.

powder coated wheels

Well the reason i wanted to powder coat them is i have a guy that does it dirt cheap for me and i thought the harder finish would be a better idea for wheels. The painted wheels on my other car are getting pretty chipped up and those were professionally painted. Just thought if there was a close match on the grey i would give it a shot.

do a search here, I will in a bit, I powder coated mine years ago and it looks perfect. Body shop lost one of mine and I used a rattle can from Supercars, you can't tell the difference. look at my pic in my sig that's a powder coated rim. I did the whole wheel black and the front argent silver

Edit - found it The color I used was from Tiger Drylac USA Inc

09/80170 Anthracite Smooth Glossy

Yes i did, i ended up powder coating them in semi gloss black then i scuffed the fronts and painted them in cast blast. That way easy to touch up and color is very nice and the backs of the wheel are the right color also.

Still look nice!
