Well, I'm working on my '66 Toronado with Plum interrior. The biggest problem when I bought the car, was it did not have a windshield. And I could not put one in because the bottom channel was rusted out.

Now, I have successfully patched the metal, And POR-15'd... pretty much everything... I'm just about ready to put the glass in so I can start driving it, but I can't seem to find the paint...

I have the Dupont codes from my Service Manual for the paint, but the only way that helps me is if I buy paint for my paint gun. And that's an awful lot of trouble to go through for the small area I actually have to do.

With all the people who restore cars, there must be rattle-cans available in these colors. But I don't know where to look, and would appreciate the help. If worse comes to worse, I'll just use flat black along one of the body lines on the dash and make it highlighted...

Try Classic Dye Products.

I sent them a sample of my '71 Sienna Brown interior vinyl and they were able to provide a spray can vinyl dye that matched perfectly. I did my dash and it came out great.

If you have an odd color (Plum) they can find a good match.

If you go into an autoparts that sells paint most can mix you a 1/2 pt or so and put it in a spray can. it isn't cheap, you would have the price of the paint and the can is usualy about $7-8. If you can't find the color it can be found with a paint camera( our Dupont one is called Chromavision) and I have found they are very accurate, you would have to take a sample piece in that is at least 2" by 2" to get a reading.

One of my co-workers just told me about this yesterday, that the place I get my spraygun paint can make aerosol cans... Surprised the heck out of me. I don't mind paying for it though, getting an exact match, instead of having to deal with the rediculous amount of trouble I'd have to go through to get out my paint gun for such a tiny area...

I have the original Dupont color code listed in my service manual, with any luck they'll be able to use that. Otherwise I do have a piece of trim... it's just not identical to my dash :-S
