Chicago Area Painter Recommendation

New here and not sure if it’s acceptable to ask but I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a trustworthy, reasonably priced painter in the Chicago area for 70 convertible? Not looking for a full restoration, just a really good driver paint job in the $10-15k range.

The Chicago area is a big place. If you're on the south side, I had work done at Dave's Pro Collision in Beecher. Now, this was 30 years ago but if Dave is still around he's still hiring quality refinishers. He didn't do any collision work for me, one time he welded up where the lower hinge of the driver's door had rusted through on my Corvair, and another time he did a full repaint and some body touch ups on my Caprice Classic.

Thanks, to be more specific I’m in the western burbs but don’t mind having the car taken somewhere. Looking for a BC/CC job, I’ll check and see if Dave is still with us. More recent recommendations would be much appreciated.

Kards Inc . in elgin might be able to help you out. The owner is a member here and is an olds guy. The paint spot in Addison il. Is also great. I do body work for a living but do collision work. Not a fan of resto work unless its my own stuff.
