I was planning on using VHT caliper paint since they might heat up slightly, but I suspect not that much. Any advice on the need or no need for heat resistance? I am painting everything under the car with with SPI black epoxy primer and that will also be the finish coat.

 

You’ll be fine using that on backing plates, nothing special needed.
