Under Hood

I have a 72 Cutlass Supreme Convertible in Boraque Brown. I am re-painting the vehicle and someone from Sherman Williams stated the under side of the hood was flat black from the factory. Can anyone confirm this or should the underside be the color of the vehicle.

Thank you!

it is actually a semi gloss black. bottom of the hood and firewall up to the windshield as well as radiator support, etc are all semi gloss.

X2
Lots of people will paint the bottom of their hood the same color as the top though. When my car was painted, I had to take off the hood and redo the underneath to get rid of the slight overspray. I think they paint the bottom of the hood so the overspray isn't noticeable.

duplicolor makes a great semi gloss black looks very factory with out the big price i used it on the firewall of my 72 cutlass and it has endured 3 years with no chipping or rusting just use a good primer and prep it good and the spray paint will hold very well and look just as good as factory
