These are the only pics I have. I'll bring a real camera this weekend and snap a few better side view pix for you. I wasn't sure where to post this cuz I couldn't figure how to send pix as a PM.

Thanks a bunch. Your car is pretty slick. Motivation for me. If you post them to this thread I can subscribe to it. Thanks in advance.

I just realized that these pics are 3 years old. Or is the camera date just not set correctly? Either way, slick then and slick now. I got 5 posts so I guess I can post pics of my car. Which is the absolute opposite of your car. Yours is laser straight and shiny as mine is drunk driver straight and suede looking.

No, those are recent pics. I am too dumb to figure out how to set the date on it. I painted it a couple months ago and had a problem with welds showing through. This weekend I got it ready and finally repainted it. We pushed it outside this morning and the sun finally came out so I could see if our work paid off. Hooray! It seems to be fine. Hopefully next weekend I can wet sand it with 600 grit and clear it. Right now it is black single stage and looks very good. It wasn't able to get super hot but there is no sign of the evil welded seams Here are some pix I took today. By the way, While I was uploading those pix I figured out how to set the day on the camera. :-)

Way to go. To get a black laid out on such a sexy body with them many curves takes skills. And you got em. You're an inspiration to me.

I am so lucky that I got to do it twice this summer. Had to redo the dang thing. Thanks for the compliment sir. I guess, just keep working and making progress till you're happy with it.

So just for educational purposes what was the cause of the seems showing through so some people don't end up with the same problem in the future?

We believe the seams were not expanding at the same rate because of the overlap area and being more rigid. My buddy who restores cars for a living has only seen this problem 2 times before mine. Only on black cars. Even dark blue and other dark colors dont get as hot and that's when it happens. He did a 69 GTX in black and that car was lap welded and he used that AdTech filler and that did not come back. It won best paint 2 years in a row at Mopars in the Park. That seam was much closer to a hard body line rather than half way up the sail like my quarters. I called him today and it wasn't as hot today either but it still looks good. no sign of seams
